Some arrivals in Meesylvania are announced with great excitement — bells, ribbons, and curious mice peeking from behind shelves.
Others arrive quietly, as if they have always belonged.

The geese were like that.
They appeared one morning by the lake, when the water was still and the reeds were whispering secrets to themselves. No one saw them arrive. They were simply there — tall, calm, and very certain of their place in the world.
Ferdinand and Glyceria
Ferdinand was the first to step onto the shore.
He surveyed the lake with the thoughtful seriousness of someone who enjoys long pauses between thoughts. His feathers were neat, his posture excellent, and his silence reassuring.
Glyceria followed — light-footed, observant, with a softness about her that suggested she noticed small things: reflections in water, half-finished sentences, the way stories linger after they are told.
The mice watched from behind cattails and stone steps. No one spoke.
It was immediately understood that the geese were not visitors.
They were residents.

Life by the Water
Soon, it became common to see the geese near the lake — Ferdinand standing watch while Glyceria traced gentle paths along the shore. They did not hurry. They did not interrupt. They simply were, which in Meesylvania is considered a great talent.
The lake, pleased with the attention, began to reflect a little more carefully.
Evenings at Home
In the evenings, Ferdinand and Glyceria could be found indoors, where the light was warmer and the hours slower. Old books were stacked nearby — some open, some resting, all well-loved.

Ferdinand preferred books with maps, margins, and sensible endings.
Glyceria liked the kind of books where the story drifted, and the meaning revealed itself only if you were patient.
Sometimes they read.
Sometimes they did not.
Both were equally important.

A Quiet Addition
The arrival of the geese changed Meesylvania in subtle ways.
The lake felt steadier.
The shelves seemed fuller.
Conversations gained pauses — thoughtful ones.
And if you listen carefully, especially in the early morning or just before dusk, you may hear the soft sound of feathers settling, pages turning, and the gentle certainty that everyone is exactly where they belong.
From the Fox Hollow Studio
Ferdinand and Glyceria were needle-felted slowly, with care for posture, expression, and character — because geese, like stories, should never feel rushed.
They are part of the growing world of Meesylvania, where each creature arrives with a history already in its pockets.
✨ Thank you for visiting Meesylvania. The geese are pleased you stopped by.
